SEO Frequently Asked Questions.

We've compiled a series of answers to the common questions we receive which will hopefully give you some insights. One of our core values is transparency so there are no smoke and mirrors - we follow a process and we get results.

  • How does SEO work?

The way we describe it, think about two websites (A & B) side by side and you're Google/Bing. Consider these scenarios and think which website would you rank higher:

    • A has 15 pages of content focused on the keyword it wants to rank for. B has 4 mentions on one page.
    • A is adding new content in the form of blogs/news on a fortnightly basis so there is fresh content. B hasn't added anything new to their website for 6 months.
    • A has 1,086 links to the website from across the internet and that number grows each week. B has 12 links.
    • A has meta titles (the words you see when you hover over a tab in Chrome) which are focused on the keywords they want to rank for. B has words like Home (for home page).

Based on this minimal information, which website would you rank higher? This is a very simple way of looking at SEO and this is for two websites. Now consider the hundreds of thousands (if not millions) that compete for most terms - it's a big job to work out which website to rank higher and there are lots of factors. It's therefore our job to work with the tools we have at our disposal to focus on out competing your competition and impressing the search engines enough to reward us with higher rankings. It never stops because the internet never stops...

  • How long does SEO take to work?

The answer varies and that's not us being vague or requiring you to sign-up for a year with blind optimism. If you want to rank higher for less competitive terms it's quicker,  put it that way.  That's the key factor with SEO - it's not that there is a magic criteria which ticks the box and sends you up to no.1 immediately. It's all about what your competitors are doing (or have done) and how to win various little battles to have a chance of winning the war.

If you'd like to find out more, fill in the form below with some examples of the keywords you want to be up there for and we can audit your current website and give you a more in-depth answer and plan ahead.

  • How much does SEO cost?

Similar to the above answer, it depends on what you want to rank for and how competitive it is. We can audit your website, look at the words which make sense to target and come up with a plan to improve your rankings, increase your traffic and generate more interest in your products/services.

  • How do you make SEO work?

One of the key areas we pride ourselves in is how well we get to know our clients and can help identify valuable keywords which are less competitive (therefore more realistic to compete for). This, combined with an exceptional ability to plan and create new content on a regular basis, helps us take big strides in the early stages of taking on a new client for SEO. Equally, because we are a full service digital agency, we can take control of the whole website if required to ensure it's as powerful as possible within the budget available.

The best way to find out more on this is to request a free audit and recommendations report via the form below. We can then be more prescriptive to your situation and go from there.

  • What's the first step and is there a fee?

We recently introduced a free audit and recommendations report for potential new clients. This helps us to really delve into the current situation in terms of your website, the keyword terms which you want to rank for, any we identify to be considered and look at a couple of competitors as well. Simply fill in the form below and we'll do the rest and go from there. Within a week you will have a lot of information and recommendations to consider and a clear route forward. Whether you're looking to make some quick gains or set your stall out for the long-term, we have options to suit your goals.
