The client.

British Gift Box approached us when they were little more than a name and a bright idea. We were asked to create a completely new brand for them, helping them to stand out in a competitive market with an effective logo, great website, and hard-working marketing strategy. Our brief included the design of the British Gift Boxes themselves - the client wanted packaging which would make sure each customer was receiving a product that truly felt like a gift.

The process.

Starting from scratch was a big, but exciting, challenge. We needed to create a brand, an identity, packaging, a website, email campaigns, social media, an audience - everything. 

As British Gift Box is a consumer focused company, we had to create a site that would stand out, whilst also being easily adaptable for seasonal offers and promotions. We eventually decided on using famous British iconography in the design for the website, with our designers creating a striking pink silhouette of London landmarks.

The challenge of BGB being a new company, however, meant there wasn’t an audience already. We had a gorgeous new website, but the generic words that the name consisted of - British, Gift, and Box - meant that the site was lost in Google rankings amongst bigger retailers selling products with these words in their descriptions. So we developed a sophisticated SEO strategy to optimise the website for their brand name, building links and content to establish credibility, and led successful competitions and campaigns on social media to grow organic traffic, to avoid the client having to spend a fortune on Google Ads. Over a number of weeks, British Gift Box were all the way up the rankings. We successfully created credibility from nothing. 

Our social media campaigns for BGB have been seasonal, inspiring customers at Christmas and Easter and other holidays to visit the site. Recently, we have also moved towards more data-focused campaigns, analysing when customers have visited the website and what they purchased. This way, we can determine purchasing patterns - for example, if perhaps a customer purchased a gift box for their mother’s birthday in July last year, we could then send an email reminding them to visit British Gift Box around the same time when July rolls round again. 
 
We also worked on incredible bespoke packaging for BGB, creating the designs for the core focus of the entire business - the gift boxes. We continue to have a lasting partnership with the company, remaining in control of their ongoing social media output and continuing to offer analytical consultancy with the advertising and marketing strategy for the business. We are very excited to keep assisting their growth!
