Behind the Build: Redesigning Zanoo.co.uk – A Web Designer’s Perspective

When Zanoo approached us to redesign their website, we knew we were stepping into a project with purpose. As a growing consultancy specialising in software quality assurance, Zanoo needed a digital presence that reflected their authority, technical expertise, and growing portfolio of enterprise clients. Our role? Translate that vision into a website that looks sharp, works seamlessly, and speaks directly to their audience.


Here’s how we approached the redesign - from the design studio’s point of view.

1. Discovery: Listening Before Designing


Zanoo came to us with a clear brief: update their brand presence and position the company as a trusted partner in software testing and quality engineering. They had outgrown their previous site - it no longer reflected their full capabilities or communicated the maturity of their services.


During our early workshops, we focused on:


  • Who their users are and what they need
  • How their service areas overlap (e.g., test automation, QA strategy)
  • The story their brand needs to tell


This gave us a solid foundation before we touched a single pixel.


2. Strategy Meets Simplicity


From the start, our design strategy revolved around
clarity, conversion, and credibility. Zanoo's offerings are technical, but that doesn’t mean the design should be complex.


We:


  • Simplified the navigation structure to guide users to key areas like Solutions, Delivery Models, Case Studies, and Insights.
  • Created a modular page design system that allows content to scale as their services expand.
  • Embedded calls-to-action throughout, encouraging engagement without overwhelming the visitor.


3. A Visual Identity That Reflects Confidence


Zanoo needed a look that matched their consultancy-level professionalism while remaining approachable. Our design direction included:


  • A confident, minimal colour palette led by deep navy and purples to convey reliability and tech expertise.
  • Clean, modern typography for clarity and elegance.
  • Bespoke icons, illustrations and subtle animations to explain technical topics and enhance visual storytelling.


The end result is a site that feels premium, without pretension.


4. Function That Follows Form


Good design isn’t just about how it looks - it's about how it works. We focused heavily on:


  • Responsive design: Every layout is mobile-optimised, ensuring a consistent experience across devices.
  • Accessibility: We adhered to WCAG best practices to make the site usable by everyone.
  • Performance: Images are compressed, pages are lean, and the codebase is optimised for speed.


We also made sure Zanoo’s internal team could manage and grow the site without needing to code.


5. Content That Converts and Builds Trust


The new site tells a clearer story, not just of what Zanoo does, but why they matter:


  • Case studies showcase real-world success with recognisable brands.
  • Certifications and compliance (like ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials) are presented front and centre.
  • Service pages are structured to answer user questions quickly and drive enquiries.


Every page has a purpose and every design element supports that purpose.

One of the most rewarding parts of this project was the collaboration itself. The Zanoo team came with a clear vision and a commitment to quality, making the entire process smooth, creative, and focused.
