It’s a new platform with some familiar roots and a project that means a lot to us at Digity.

Where it started: Networking in Berkshire

When I started started Digity in 2011, I knew I had to get out and meet people and that was an integral part of my plan to build the business. This led to Chamber events, business breakfasts and other local gatherings brought introductions, advice and opportunities. Each new conversation seemed to uncover another event or organisation worth knowing about. There was plenty happening, but the information was scattered across different websites and networks.

So I decided to create a website called Networking in Berkshire to bring those opportunities together and make them easier to discover. It grew into an active community, with similar networks following in Buckinghamshire and Surrey. Then Covid changed how we met, worked and connected, and the project lost its momentum.

The idea behind it, however, remained just as useful.

A new lease of life

VASO takes that original idea and gives it fresh energy, a broader outlook and a platform built around how people want to connect today. It brings together business networking, conferences, exhibitions, seminars, workshops, awards and shared experiences, including opportunities to make connections through sport and social events.

You might be looking for a specialist industry briefing, a practical workshop, a relaxed gathering nearby or a conference that opens your eyes to something new. VASO helps you explore what’s happening and find something relevant. You can search by keyword and location, then narrow your options by event type, sector, audience, county and dates. Free membership also gives you a way to build your profile, discover other members and join conversations through online groups.

Events are run by their respective organisers, with bookings made directly through them. VASO brings the opportunities together.

We know how much relationships matter when you’re growing a business. We’ve experienced the value of being in the right room, asking a question and meeting someone whose perspective changes your thinking. Developing VASO is our way of helping more people find those moments.

Our aim is to make it easier for business owners, founders, professionals and leaders to get out, learn something useful and build relationships beyond their existing circles. It also gives event organisers another place to reach people who could benefit from what they’re doing, with free standard event listings. We’re starting this time with very strong roots in Berkshire and the Thames Valley, alongside opportunities in London and further afield. As the community grows, we’ll continue developing the platform around what members find useful.

Networking in Berkshire began with a simple desire to help people discover what was happening around them. VASO gives that idea a new lease of life and more room to grow.
