How a simple website refresh turned the tap back on

Earlier this year, a client came to us with a problem; their leads had stopped. For the best part of a year, they had received no online enquiries, it was completely static. And guess what? So was their website.

What once worked to deliver a steady stream of enquiries was no longer converting and they didn’t know why - but we did.

Let's get into it...

Why you shouldn't leave your website static

When your website remains static, eventually your leads will become the same. Websites need to keep being refreshed and updated for a plethora of reasons; SEO, changes in user behaviour, to keep returning visitors engaged… the list goes on. In fact, one of the most harmful things you can do for your lead generation is publish a website and then just leave it alone.

From what to why: A simple website and copy refresh

We put our heads together, alongside our client, to audit their current website and understand what about it was no longer working and it quickly became apparent that the key was in the copy; it was all about what they did and not why people needed it.

Along with a relatively straightforward design refresh to modernise their appearance, we flipped the copy on its head, focusing primarily on why their
clients need them and what key benefits they bring to other businesses. We worked closely with our client to understand their customers, so we could talk to them in their language and consider what information was the most important from their perspective.

The outcome: new leads and a happy client

The result? A few months post-launch and our client now has two big projects in the pipeline - both of which came from website leads. No massive budget, no disruptive timeline of designing and building a whole new site, just a simple rethink and refresh of what was already there.
